“Kami no ie” (paper house*) , a collaboration with architect Kengo Kuma

A collaboration with Kengo Kuma, the architect who designed the National Stadium for the Tokyo Olympics.

Optical fibers are woven into the base, and a pale shower of light leaks from the washi paper and shines through.

For this project, I made a special washi paper-making tool to hold the fibers in place. I had to be very careful not to break the fibers.

Displayed as interior design in VivoCity Francfranc shop, Singapore.
